Never Give Up (My Lost Soul)

May this sound
Unravel the greatest
Mysteries of the world.

May this verse
Be known as a psalm that’ll
Help you retrieve your soul.

Oh, my lost soul,
Now you return
And you see what’s become of the house.
It’s our refuge, the one that we share.

Oh, my lost soul,
We were on the way out,
But the seeds are here in the ground.
This is our garden, the one that we share.

Oh, my lost soul.

Baby steps
Are better than none,
And I suppose it’s fair to remember:

When we take our time
We leave behind time.
When we take our time
We pass up time.

Oh, my lost soul,
Change is upon us now.

Oh, my lost soul,
Now you return
And you see what’s become of the house.
It’s our refuge, the one that we share.

Oh, my lost soul,
We were on the way out,
But our roots are here in the ground.
This is our garden, the one that we share.

Oh, my lost soul,
Now you return
And you see what’s become of the house.
It’s our refuge, the one that we share.

Oh, my lost soul,
We were on the way out,
But our roots are here in the ground.
This is our garden, the one that we share.

Oh, my lost soul.

When we believe in love
We live in such a beautiful world.

“Over the winter of 2015 I bought my first house. This was pretty monumental for me. I’ve felt like such a nomad, moving all around for years. It seems one is always on the move when growing, and I guess I had a lot to learn. This song is about this reintegration. I bought this house when I was finally ready to put down some roots, and this allowed some forgotten pieces of my soul to come knocking. Reconnecting my studio equipment, listening to some old recordings, and flipping through photo albums brought me helped me to appreciate how far I’ve come. The song is about moving in with my sweetheart, Zoe, and feeling like I live with family. It’s also about this insane election year and visualizing America finding it’s soul again soon.”
