It’s here! More than twelve years since the debut album, Alek Vila has released Gratitude World, an album that was three years and hundreds of hours in the making. Gratitude World features drummer Moises Padilla and bassist Jeff Eason as well as special appearances from guitarist Jason Goessl and a string quartet comprised of Chara Hokama, Melanie Wong, Meagan Peeples, and Leanne Riddle arranged by Daniel J. Miller. The album was produced by Peter Fosso, recorded at Elliot Bay Recording Company in Seattle by Scott Ross, and mastered by Steve Hall at Future Disc Systems.

Gratitude World promises to stir your emotions and inspire your soul. It is available today as a digital download on www.racingheartrecords.com, and later it will be available through the major dealers such as iTunes and Amazon. Alek Vila’s new album, titled Gratitude World, is recorded and mixed and has been delivered to the Steve Hall at Future Disc Mastering for the final touch. We are looking towards a November 1st, 2012 release date!

Today Alek Vila visited Elliot Bay Recording Company to record the lead vocal tracks for the upcoming album. Singer Karlie Markendorf made an appearance in the studio to test out some backing vocal tracks, and producer Peter Fosso visited to contribute his thoughts during Vila’s recording session. More than ten years after the release of his self-produced debut album Love In Color, Alek Vila is breaking ground on a new album. This follows a long period of musical study and re-invention including as well as a move from Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia and up to Seattle. Alek returns to the studio in a collaborative work with Producer Peter Fosso after refining his gift for songwriting with a conscious touch and thoughtful lyrics to create an inviting combination of musical eloquence and raw fun.

Peter owns and operates Insight Records where he has discovered a number of Northwest artists and went on to release several compilations – most notably, Seattle Women In Rock, which garnered reviews in Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly. His band’s self-titled debut, Life Like Feel, achieved national distribution and radio airplay on 180 stations. Peter launched one of the early music websites, NetMusic.com, is the Managing Director for Music2Deal.com (the international networking site for the music industry), and is the Founder/President of Global Music Project, the non-profit organization whose mission is to unite humanity through music.

The writer/producer team are now selecting musicians for the album project (drummers, bassists, string players, percussionists). Inquiries should be sent through our contact page.
